About Us.
With our families - Allan's 3 daughters and Jill's 2 sons - all grown and busy with study and their own families, we decided it was time to move to the sunny Hawke's Bay in 2006.
Allan grew up in Napier but with having lived overseas and in various parts of New Zealand hadn't been here for many years. Jill wanted to live somewhere warm, so with the wonderful Hawke's Bay climate, choice of outdoor activities, wineries, eateries and exciting events such as the Art Deco festivities, Mission Concert and Jazz festivals, we decided Napier was the place for us.
We opened our shop -BeDazzling Ltd, in Emerson Street in 2006, and having met lots of visitors both from around New Zealand and from overseas, we agreed that running a Bed and Breakfast was the way to host visitors and help them enjoy their time in Hawke's Bay.
We purchased 142 Thompson Road in November 2007 after spending several months looking around for that perfect place. Having fantastic views, bathrooms for every bedroom, secure parking for 3 cars, a lap pool, BBQ area, and all-day sun made the final choice easy - we knew we had our select Bed and Breakfast.
We also run BeDazzling Ltd, a wholesale / retail business in Emerson Street, the main street in Napier. We specialize in our own label clothing and jewellery, bags and giftware. We travel overseas to visit our suppliers and buy specialty items for our shop - a lot of our products are not available anywhere else in New Zealand.
